St. James and Ritz-Carlton Wedding

From the majestic  St. James Cathedral to the elegant Ritz-Carlton ballroom, everything about this couple's wedding day was simply fabulous.  Morgan and Conor were a dream to work with, and everyone in their wedding party was really wonderful and photogenic, too.  The floral decorations were classic elegance with a botanical flair and included roses, lisianthus, hydrangeas, hyperium, waxflower, lush greens, tall glass vases, romantic candles, and crystal accents.  There was even a faux boxwood photo wall crowned with a waterfall of cascading white blossoms that guests really loved.  In fact, everyone enjoyed everything about this stunning wedding, filled with love and laughter.  Congratulations Morgan and Conor!  Thank you for letting us play a part in your beautiful day.

Spectacular Outdoor Country Club Wedding

6. June 2022 13:54 by Phillip's Flowers | 0 Comments

Estelle and Kosta met on Chicago's Red Line and just naturally connected because of their common interests in youth ministries and their passion for the city's food scene.  Two years later, Kosta proposed while they were visiting a Napa winery together.  Their wedding featured a stunning Greek ceremony at the bride’s childhood church, St. John the Baptist in Des Plaines, then a fairytale outdoor garden reception for over 200 guests at the beautiful Skokie Country Club.

The celebration began on the golf course, with cocktails and a delicious seafood tower, then transitioned to a sit-down dinner on the club's scenic terrace. “As the sun and lighting changed, so did the guest experience” said Estelle.  The floral decorations featured a romantic palette of white, green, soft pink, and gold, with roses, hydrangeas, spray roses, ranunculus, lisianthus, peonies, Dendrobium orchids, Italian ruscus, bay leaves, olive branches, and hanging votive candles.  There were two tasty sweets tables with goodies from Altissima and homemade Greek pastries from family members, too. The evening was capped off with romantic twinkle lights, as guests danced under the stars, then a truly grand finale of amazing fireworks.

Featured on Modern Luxury Weddings Chicago, this was truly a wedding to remember.  Congratulaions Estelle and Kosta.  We loved being a part of your magical day, and we wish you a very happy ever after!

Dancing in the Moonlight at Adler Planetarium

25. May 2022 18:03 by Phillip's Flowers | 0 Comments

Jessica and Louis met as undergrads during orientation at Washington University in St. Louis.  Later, they both went on to earn their master’s degrees from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.  Their wedding was originally planned for 2020, but it had to be rescheduled due to Covid.  We think their gorgeous gathering at Adler Planetarium in August 2021 was definitely worth the wait.  We loved working with this upbeat couple and with Michelle of MC Designs, who helped plan and style the whole event.  The floral decorations included large elevated centerpieces in classic golden bowls, floating wreath centerpieces with  hanging votives, and lots and lots of romantic candles in glass.  There were roses galore, including Sarah, Vendela, Bridal Akito, and Playa Blanca varieties.  Other floral selections included mini calla lilies, hypericum, Mokara orchids, blue thistle, ranunculus, dendrobium orchids, hydrangeas, lilies, godetia, waxflower, lisianthus, and stock, with eucalyptus, Italian ruscus, and Israeli ruscus, too.  It was a modern Jewish ceremeony with a classic gold and white reception and a beautiful starry setting under glass.  In keeping with the moonlight view, Jessica and Louis selected the song Dancing in the Moolight for their first dance, and we wish them many, many happy years of dancing in the moonlight together.  Thank you Jessica and Louis for letting us play a part in your wonderful day, and congratulations on your upcoming first anniversary this August!

Cantigny Outdoor Summer Wedding

30. April 2022 14:35 by Phillip's Flowers | 0 Comments

We just had to share these sweet memories from Angelina and Chester's garden wedding at Cantigny Park last summer.  From the first look to the tea ceremony and reception, this wonderful couple's day was filled with joy and inspiration.  The families had known each other for years, so everyone was beaming with happiness.  It was 95 degrees and humid, but no one seemed to mind, especially with music performed by the bride and groom themselves.  Everyone loved this heartwarming Wheaton garden gathering.  Thank you Angelina and Chester for letting us share in your  celebration.  We loved working with you and your families.  See more at Alex Bo Photo.
