Evanston Chapel Wedding

Sonia and Liju met in 2008 through a campus ministry at UIC. They kept in touch by email, and a couple of years later found themselves working in the same building at DePaul University. "Looking back," said Sonia, "I can't help but be incredibly amazed by God's creativity and orchestration of our story." Their relationship grew, and they exchanged vows in May 2014 at the Alice Millar Chapel on Northwestern's campus in Evanston four years later. Sonia and Liju incorporated some very meaningful traditions in their wedding, including the groom tying a thread on the bride and covering her with a saree to symbolize his love and protection. The ceremony was filled with light and color from the chapel's stained glass window, the bridesmaids' sarees from Bengaluru, India, and the bride's gorgeous rose bouquet. A joyous reception followed in Skokie, where family and guests joined together to celebrate this lovely couple's union. Congratulations, Sonia and Liju.
