Meghan and Shane met in Dublin, Ireland. So, it's no surprise that their Chicago area wedding echoed the romance of travel. As a journalist with a special interest in photography, Shane may have inspired the antique cameras and vintage typewriter, but Meghan planned every detail of the day, while completing her master's degree in Washington state. Decorations included old weathered planks from a fence in Tacoma where they once lived and a Seattle-based non-profit farm where they both volunteered, a collection of vintage vases from a variety of sources, and postcards from many of the couple's most memorable travel destinations. Gorgeous pink peonies and other fresh garden flowers helped complete the romantic vintage theme for the ceremony in Wheaton, photos at Fabyan Gardens, and a fun-filled reception at the Royal Fox Country Club in St. Charles. Even the happy couple's exit had a touching travel theme, thanks to a bright yellow '74 Volkswagen Thing that was owned by the bride's departed father.
